How do I create a lifestyle I don't have to retire from?

How do I live a fulfilled life without burning out?!

What changes do I have to make ?

Let's start with where you are:

  • You have been working hard for a couple of years, maybe in a big corporation, public institution or in the legal profession, but you are now exhausted and you lost motivation or you feel stuck or you are about to retire from work.

  • You feel like you need to change your life or your job.

  • You have a good track record of delivering work and being successful, but you start to feel tired and maybe you even feel a bit of resentment building up.

  • Your personal life is suffering, you don’t have enough time for your loved ones or maybe you are struggling to find energy to even go on a date or to the gym.

  • You tell yourself you should be grateful for what you have: a good job, loving family, a roof over your head, food on the table, holidays… But you still feel like something is missing, you feel a burden on your shoulders, and you are not sure you can continue like this anymore.

  • You often fall sick or crash at the weekends and on holidays.

And you keep a lot of secrets...

Your secrets ...

Secret 1: You are tired of the grind culture, and you feel stuck.

Secret 2: You feel unappreciated for your work and are sick and tired of going beyond what is necessary.

Secret 3: You need a big change but don't know where to start or are scared to let go of the life you have.

Secret 4:  Sometimes you feel like a fraud and fear that someone will soon find out you are not good enough.

Secret 5: You do whatever you can to avoid conflict.

Secret 6: You don’t really show your true self, and you feel like you have to hide certain parts of yourself because you will not be accepted.

Secret 7: Sometimes you do things because you have a fear of missing out.

Secret 8: You say yes to things, but you wish you would say no.

Secret 9: You look like you have it all figured out, but there a storm brewing inside you.

Secret 10: You feel guilty for taking a sick day.

Secret 11: You constantly compare yourself with others.

You read a self-help book or listen to a podcast, telling you to change your mindset or positive vibes only. You start to drink a green smoothie in the morning, you try to meditate but your mind goes places and you still feel exhausted. Nothing works!

You feel physically tired, you wake up tired in the morning, and there is a storm happening inside you like you are about the explode or crash or maybe you simply don't want to do anything and procrastinate all day…but you have to continue...

What you really want:

  1. To wake up feeling rested, energized and excited for a new day.

  2. To grow at your own pace and have satisfaction both at work and in your personal life

  3. To be able to switch off at the end of the day and have more energy for your hobbies, family, friends, personal life.

  4. To be happy with your life, career and where things are heading.

  5. You want to make a meaningful change

The problem is that you are at the end of your rope, and your energy is so low you can’t even think clearly. It feels impossible to reach because you are just tired lack motivation, feel stuck and run out of ideas. It feels like an uphill struggle.

So, what next?

To go more into detail...

First you have to understand the bigger picture of your life and only then you can start (re)building yourself again. To do that, I designed a 6-step approach to help guide you on your journey to balance and excitement.

Step 1 – Rest & Recovery - Clarify context

You have been burning the candle at both ends for a long time, and you are exhausted. First you need to recharge to be able to make changes. Think about it as an arrow and a bow, first you have to pull the arrow back for it to be propelled, and the further you pull back the further away it is propelled.

The more rested and recharged you are, the more you will be able to think and see clearly and implement durable sustainable changes. Otherwise, you will be like a phone that needs to be charged every couple of hours because the battery is weak. We want you to be like a brand-new phone, whose battery lasts for a whole day.

We will do an audit of every area of your life to clarify the areas that need your attention and place your desire for transformation into the context of your whole life.

Step 2 – Root Cause

Once you are rested and your nervous system is stabilised, we will start digging into the root cause of why you feel stuck, and exhausted  or burned out.

This is usually the result of a number of factors, but in a nutshell, it means that you are spending a lot of energy and you are not being nourished enough on any level.  And I am not talking just about food and sleep, but also about emotional and intellectual nourishment.

Step 3 – Mindset Shift

Once we figure out the root cause, we will work to identify the mindset that is keeping you stuck. For example, maybe you are exhausted and feel stuck because working long hours is one of the reasons, but we want to find out why you are working such long hours. On first glimpse it might seem that this is the company culture, but how about your own boundaries, how about your life choices to work for a company whose values do not align with yours...

Do you have an impostor syndrome pushing you to overdeliver and never say NO? Do you have limiting beliefs that make you be a perfectionist, are you harsh with yourself, do you even have a personal life? Is your personal life not going great and also draining you?

This is the chapter where we bring the secrets to light and take responsibility for what our soul truly craves.

Step 4 – Intrinsic energy

We all have intrinsic energy that guides us and pushes us forward in life. That energy is a mix between drive, passion, a force of nature and soft, gentle, nurturing flow. Some may call it a mix between masculine and feminine energy.

As human beings, we all have feminine and masculine energy and learning to understand how this operates within us, is a key element in regaining balance in life. Unfortunately, society pushes us more and more into the masculine energy of constant productivity without taking into account our specific needs in different stages of our lives. So, it is our responsibility to learn about our own energy to learn to balance our lives and use that to move towards the life of our dreams.

Step 5 – Change

Once you put things into perspective and you figured out the root cause of why you feel the way you do, it’s time to take a decision to change (something). Generally, the question is: Do I stay, or do I go?

This one is tricky, because sometimes your desire for change comes because you feel stuck, or burnout because of a very demanding and toxic work environment and sometimes it is caused because of a mix of unhealthy personal life, topped up with a heavy workload. The bottom line is nobody is looking for change because they are happy.

Depending on what the root cause is, you then have a number of options to take.

Oftentimes the decision itself is the most difficult part, and the rest simply follows. Once you know what you want, we will build up from there.

Step 6 – Sustainable life action plan

Once you figured out what it is that you want, then we will start building a sustainable life action plan.

The idea is to create a lifestyle that works for you, and sometimes this can be about big changes, and sometimes about small incremental changes that can improve the quality of your life.

This one is about your long-term life vision: how do I want to live? Do I want to work hard, play hard and crash again, or do I want to enjoy, be filled with energy when I wake up and have a burning desire for life?

You might be tempted to want to jump steps, and generally people want to skip steps 1 and 2 or give them very little importance and that’s where it all crumbles.

Think of this approach as building a house. Every step is necessary to build the house of your dreams, and each step builds on the previous step.

Does this resonate? If yes, then let's work together and change the script.
